Avonex Side Effects

Avonex may be a necessity for people living with MS. For some, it may mean the difference between functioning normally and not. However, like all drugs, Avonex can cause adverse reactions, Some of them can be quite serious. This page offers a detailed overview of the potential dangers of Avonex: http://www.pharmacydrugguide.com/Avonex_Side_Effects

Avonex is made by drug manfacturer Biogen Idec. It is administered by injection only, and is usually given once a week. Fortunately, many of the annoyign side effects will dissipate within a day after each injection. These pesky (but not dangerous) side effects include feeling like you have the flu, with chills, tiredenss, high temperature, sweating and muscle aches.

While the above side effects are not cause for much concern, there are some side effects that can cause worry. If you experience thoughts of self-hatred or self-harm; yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice); a major decrease in appetite; bleeding more easily than usual; an increase in aggressive feelings; darkly colored urine or pale colored stool; these are warning signs that there could be a serious problem. In these cases, the best course of action is to notify a doctor or other health care provider at once.
